Fireman Derek's started with Derek Kaplan — a former Miami firefighter and Division-1 football player who also happened to be obsessed with baking the perfect pie.
He started bringing his pies to the fire station. His crew couldn't stop eating them. Word spread. Then the neighborhood started showing up. Then the whole city.
That was over 20 years ago. Today we have locations in Wynwood, Coconut Grove, and Fort Lauderdale — and now we ship nationwide so anyone in the country can taste what Miami has been talking about for two decades.
Everything is still made in-house. Still small-batch. Still the same recipes Derek perfected all those years ago — tested and approved by actual firefighters.
